He has broad experience in operational and digital transformation in all its phases, from strategy and design to implementation and operation for global and regional programs. He has led large-scale transformations in core business areas such as supply chain, finance, procurement and sales, as well as digital transformation processes in robotics, predictive analytics and other emerging technologies.

Senior Manager of Risk Advisory at Deloitte. Emmanuelle Bolaños is a Senior Manager of Risk Advisory at Deloitte S-LATAM, where she has built a career of more than 11 years of experience spanning a broad range of specialized services in the area of Cyber Risk, providing high-quality solutions to clients in various sectors, including both local and multinational companies.

Bolaños’s expertise extends to areas within cybersecurity, such as: Cyber Threat Monitoring, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Cyber Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, Cyber Threat Hunting, Security Platform Management and the design and implementation of cybersecurity strategies (Cyber Strategy).

Regarding her academic background, Emmanuelle Bolaños earned her degree in Computer Engineering with an emphasis in Information Systems, as well as her bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, both conferred by the Universidad Hispanoamericana de Costa Rica. Her commitment to excellence and constant upskilling in her field is reflected in the professional certifications she has earned, including CISSP, CISM, ECIH, Pentest+, Security+, CNVP, and many more, covering critical aspects of cybersecurity, information security and IT management. Bolaños is also an active member of recognized professional organizations such as ISACA and ISC2.

Audit and Assurance Partner at Deloitte. Aracelli Cardozo is an Audit and Assurance Partner at Deloitte Dominican Republic and Talent Leader of the Cluster made up of the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Honduras and Nicaragua. She has more than 23 years of experience in Audit for clients in various sectors, both local and multinational, especially financial, commercial and manufacturing companies. She is a member of the firm’s Agribusiness Committee for the aforementioned Cluster.

Aracelli’s experience includes the planning, execution and supervision of financial audits under International Standards on Auditing and prepared in accordance with full International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and IFRS for Small and Medium-sized Entities, the preparation of audit reports, agreed-upon procedures, limited reviews, compilations and IFRS convergence projects.

Biography

Omar Bairan has more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector. He is certified as a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute.

He earned an MBA at Florida International University (FIU). He also completed a Master’s in Economic Legislation and Corporate Law and obtained his law degree at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM).

He currently serves as Vice President of Legal Advisory and Regulatory Compliance at Banco Múltiple Santa Cruz, S.A. He is also chair of the Legal Committee of the Dominican Republic Banks Association (ABA).

He has also taught for more than 15 years at several universities, teaching subjects related to Financial Markets, Risk Management and Financial Mathematics.

Biography

Erich Schumann is a founding partner of Global Atlantic Partners LLC and managing partner of its business consulting services, which provides clients with business development needs or those experiencing transitional management challenges with creative, cost-efficient and expedient solutions. Mr. Schumann is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), a Certified in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), and an expert in internal audit, internal control and banking. He is an adjunct professor at Brandeis University’s International Business School teaching corporate governance to graduate students. Mr. Schumann also teaches CPE courses for business professionals on behalf of CPE Inc.

Mr. Schumann has more than 20 years of senior management experience in Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America. Prior to forming Global Atlantic Partners LLC, he served as executive vice president and chief accounting officer for FleetBoston Financial, formerly BankBoston, the seventh largest U.S. bank. Mr. Schumann has worked extensively in Germany, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Brazil and the U.S., holding numerous executive positions, including chief financial officer, chief administrative officer, leasing division head and branch manager.

Additionally, Mr. Schumann has worked as an internal consultant and crisis manager and has led a wide range of projects, including implementation of the COSO program in the Bank’s Brazil operation, major corporate-wide cost reduction and restructuring programs, a review of a $6 billion venture capital business, the foundation of a business-to-business Internet venture, and many merger and acquisition negotiations.

Mr. Schumann has served as a member of the Internal Auditing Standards Board (IASB) of the IIA and now serves as the Vice-Chairman of its Professional Issues Committee. In addition, he is treasurer of The Boston Plan for Excellence in the Public Schools. He holds a master’s degree in finance and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Frankfurt, Germany. He also is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program and of its Seminar for Corporate Financial Management. Mr. Schumann is fluent in German and Portuguese and conversational in Spanish.

Abel López

Biography

Abel López is an experienced innovation and digital transformation project manager, with a strong interest in digital entrepreneurship and technology startups with cutting-edge business models. He has more than 15 years of experience in technology and design, during which he has collaborated on digital projects with well-known brands such as Reebok, Santo Domingo Motors, Johnnie Walker, Cuesta, Gatorade, Jumbo, EGE Haina, Banco Popular, La Sirena and Bravo, as well as with institutions such as the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, the Presidency of the Republic and UNDP.

Abel is currently pursuing an Online Master’s in Product and Service Design and is working toward the PMP certification. In 2021, he received the National Public Innovation Award for his outstanding work on the Constelación project. Later, in 2023, he was honored with the Singularity Group Impact Award for the Santo Domingo Chapter for his contributions to the Dominican Republic’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy. He is also co-founder of the soon-to-launch startup PolyCluster, where research and development is carried out in the fields of telepresence, virtual reality and augmented reality.

In his role as Coordinator of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (ENIA) at the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC), Abel has the honor of working with the Innovation Directorate team on the mission of positioning the Dominican Republic as a regional reference in artificial intelligence.
