Technical work by type of risk
The working committees are multi-sector groups of Club members, organized by type of risk and by supporting topics. They analyze standards and rules, prepare position papers, generate technical content and follow regulatory initiatives, so that the Board of Directors decides with reports aligned with the best practices in financial risk management.
What the committees are
What they are
Working groups created to add value in risk management and support the Club’s objective: promoting risk culture and the adoption of industry best practices. They are a meeting point to discuss ideas, experiences, opinions and practical use cases.
Who takes part
Regular members and representatives of sponsor members, duly formalized and active. Each committee brings together between 5 and 25 people, and each member can take part in a maximum of 3 committees.
How they are led
Each committee has a coordinator and a co-coordinator. They cannot be members of the Board of Directors and they rotate once a year, with no one repeating as coordinator two years in a row.
Committees by type of risk
Each one addresses a type of risk in the financial sector.
Credit and Counterparty Risk

Market and Liquidity Risk
Studies international references to identify, monitor and prevent market and liquidity risks, and analyzes the effect of Basel requirements on the system.
Operational, Strategic and Emerging Risks
Studies how to deal with disruptive events and losses from failures of processes, people or systems, and promotes the analysis of strategic and emerging risks.
AML/CFT Risks
Analyzes standards and regulations to prevent the risks of money laundering, terrorist financing and criminal corruption risks, from the risk manager’s perspective.
ESG Risks
Addresses the management of environmental, social and governance risks and their link to the sustainability strategy of financial institutions.
Technology Risk and Cybersecurity
Analyzes information security and cybersecurity standards and regulations, and fosters a security culture in the use of new technologies.
Support committees
They contribute cross-cutting functions to all the others: standards and corporate governance, continuity, audit and innovation.
Regulations, Legislation and Corporate Governance
Reviews and gives an opinion on current laws and regulations or those under consultation so that the Club has a technical position, and promotes good corporate governance practices in the sector.
Business Continuity and Operational Resilience
Promotes the ability of institutions to maintain their critical operations through disruptions, and to recover from them, based on international standards.
Audit
Brings together the entities’ auditors to share criteria and best practices in risk-based internal audit and independent assurance.
