The Club

What is the Dominican Republic Risk Management Club?

It is a private, independent, non-political and non-profit association, governed by Law 122-05. Its purpose is to foster risk culture and the exchange of ideas, analysis, research and experience among its members on best practices in risk management and on local and international regulations, in order to strengthen companies in the financial sector.

It obtained its certificate of incorporation from the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic on June 28, 2022, as a mixed association (RNI 21222/2022).

Who leads the Club?

The General Assembly is the supreme body. The 2026-2030 Board of Directors, with 15 members, governs and administers the Club. The Executive Directorate carries out the day-to-day work and the technical work is done in the committees.

Where is the office and what are the opening hours?

Ave. Tiradentes at the corner of Presidente González Street, La Isla Building, office 206, Ensanche Naco, Santo Domingo. We are open Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Membership

What types of members are there?

There are four: founding, regular (professionals, individuals), honorary and sponsor (organizations). Professionals join as regular members and organizations as sponsor members.

Who can be a regular member?

Individuals, of legal age and with full legal capacity, who meet any of these requirements:

  • Be responsible for, or regularly work in, a risk area of a financial institution, corporation or service company.
  • Provide services at a regulatory or monetary body, academic institution or professional association related to the financial markets.
  • Have held those functions in the past.

How much does it cost to be a member?

A regular member pays US$200 a year, with no separate registration fee. Sponsor members pay US$3,000 (Gold) or US$5,000 (Premium) a year; the Academic tier is agreed with each institution. Honorary members pay no fee.

How do I register and who approves my admission?

Complete the application form and pay the annual fee. The Board of Directors evaluates the application with the documentation provided and decides on admission. You will receive your membership number when the payment is confirmed.

How can I pay?

By credit or debit card, with PayPal or by bank transfer in the Club’s name. On the registration form you will see the options available.

What does regular membership include?
  • A voice and vote in the assemblies, and the right to elect and be elected to the Board of Directors.
  • Participation in the working committees and in the discussion sessions.
  • Exclusive training activities at no cost and a 20% discount on the Club’s training offering.
  • Exclusive access to the Club’s research and analysis work.

What happens if I do not pay the annual fee?

Before losing member status, the delinquent member is called upon to regularize their situation within thirty days. A member who lets two consecutive annual fees go unpaid ceases to be a member.

How do I withdraw?

A resignation letter addressed to the Board of Directors, which approves it in session, is enough. Keep in mind that withdrawal does not entitle you to a refund of the amounts contributed up to that point.

My organization wants to support the Club. How do we do it?

Legal entities can be sponsor members: they provide financial, academic or other support to the Club and appoint a person to represent them. Today there are 43 organizations (21 Premium, 16 Gold and 6 Academic). Write to us and we will explain the tiers.

Committees and activities

What are the working committees and how do I take part?

They are groups of members who study a risk topic and produce articles, analysis and activities. There are 10: six by type of risk (credit, market and liquidity, operational, AML/CFT, ESG, technology and cybersecurity) and four support committees (regulations and corporate governance, business continuity, audit and innovation).

What activities does the Club organize?

The Annual Risk Conference (4 editions, from 2023 to 2026), the Breakfast Conferences (11 meetings), webinars (27 held), training and the international certification with its partners.
