What it is about

A webinar with Marsh risk experts on the Global Risks Report 2026 and how those challenges affect companies in the Dominican Republic.

Topics include strategies to deal with climate events and economic uncertainty, solutions to strengthen operational and financial resilience, early risk signals with quick actions to mitigate impacts, and how to use innovation and analytics for proactive management.

Session summary

The two speakers, from Marsh, walk through the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report 2026, which gathers the views of experts and of more than eleven thousand executives. The central idea is that the world has entered an era of competition: geoeconomic confrontation, armed conflict between states, polarization, disinformation and a retreating multilateralism. They point out that environmental risks still rank as priorities in the long term but drop out of short-term attention, that artificial intelligence and quantum computing add technological risks, and that risks should not be seen in isolation because they are interconnected, with inequality at the center of the map.

The second part brings the analysis to Latin America and the Dominican Republic: economic slowdown, lack of job opportunities, insufficient public services and social protection, debt, extreme weather events and aging infrastructure. They devote time to supply chain disruption and hidden bottlenecks, and close with recommendations: stress tests and future scenarios, resilience of the supply chain and of clients, artificial intelligence capabilities, and investment in public and private infrastructure built for the climate. The questions covered the digital divide, the retreat of multilateralism for small economies, biodiversity and how to define stress scenarios.
